SUBJECT: Request for approval of a certificate of appropriateness to paint the house and add
wooden steps at the front entrance
FILE: CA- 732
STAFF REPORT
The Planning Manager recommends approval of this request subject to using "Sea Tempest" flat
instead of the hi -glass.
Luis Loza, the property owner, would like to paint the exterior of his house at 2218 Laurel. The
house is now sided with gray asphalt shingles. He wishes to paint the house Wal-Mart Paints
"Tavistock Green" (96352) with Behr "Sea Tempest" hi -gloss (5C7-1). The main color will be
a light green with dark green trim.
By looking at the picture in SPARE, the house apparently had a concrete porch and steps. The
porch and steps are now missing. The applicant would like to replace with a wood porch and
steps.
The house is listed in the 1990 SPARE Beaumont survey. SPARE states that the house is of the
Vernacular Craftsman style and was built c. 1928.
Exhibit is attached.
