2109 Rusk

The Planning Manager recommends approval of this request.
The City of Beaumont Clean Community Department is applying for a certificate of
appropriateness in order to demolish a house a 2109 Rusk.
2109 Rusk was inspected and found to be in violation of the City of Beaumont Code of
Ordinances pertaining to dangerous structures. The structure was tagged as substandard on
September 17, 2002. The property is owned by Mary Wilkerson of Dothan, Alabama.
The Clean Community Department has determined that there is 50% or more damage to non -
supporting members and 33% or more damage to supporting members and is unsuitable for
rehabilitation.
The property has a total value of $7,080. The house itself has an appraised value $ 4, 870.
2109 Rusk is listed in the 1990 SPARE Beaumont Survey. SPARE states that the house was built
c. 1910 and is of the National Folk style. SPARE states that the use of modem materials has
sacrificed the structure's architectural integrity.
