SUBJECT: Request for approval of a certificate of appropriateness to al low the painting of a house.
FILE: CA-815
STAFF REPORT
The Planning Manager recommends approval of Behr's "burnished mahogany" only if the
color that the eaves and door are now painted is not the color asked for. Upon inspection of the
house on July 8, it appears that Mr. Mitchell has already painted the eaves and door a color that
has more purple in it. This color does not appear to be the same color as requested.
James Mitchell came in to request a certificate of appropriateness to paint his home at 2242
Evalon. Staff approved "shale gray" and "powered snow" for the body and trim, respectively.
Mr. Mitchell wanted to paint the door and eaves "burnished mahogany". Staff recommended
to Mr. Mitchell that he submit that request to the Historic Landmark Commission for their
review.
The house is not listed in the SPARE Beaumont Survey.
Staff will have the color chip available at the meeting.
