Richardson, Planning Manager SUBJECT: Request for approval of a certificate of appropriateness to demolish structures at 2599 South. FILE: CA-836 STAFF REPORT The Planning Manager recommends approval of this request. On August 6, 2002, the City of Beaumont's Clean Community Department/Neighborhood Services tagged a garage and metal shed at 2599 South and on June 5, 2003, tagged the single family home at the same address as substandard. The structures were inspected and found to be in violation of the City of Beaumont Code of Ordinances pertaining to dangerous structures. Elizabeth R. Ledoux was identified as the property owner and she was sent notification on June 16, 2003. As of this date, the property owner has not taken action to raze or repair the structure. Neighborhood Services has determined that the house has 50% or more damage of non - supporting members. The garage and metal shed have been determined to have 33% or more damage to supporting members. The property has an appraisal value of $34,720 (land value $4,940; improvement value = $29,780) The property is not listed in the SPARE Beaumont survey. The structures will be presented to City Council in the near future for their consideration. The Neighborhood Services/Demolition Division will be requesting a raze order from City Council.
