Richardson, Planning Manager SUBJECT: Request for approval of a certificate of appropriateness to screen in the front porch, level the house and install siding. FILE: CA-541 STAFF REPORT The Planning Director recommends denial of this request. The applicant screened in his front porch without a certificate of appropriateness. Plywood, screen and an aluminum door were installed between the columns. The plywood was then painted white. Staff notified him that he was in violation of the zoning ordinance. The work done on the porch is innappropriate and does not complement the house. He has now applied for a certificate of appropriateness to get approval of the screened porch but also for leveling and siding. The applicant states that the leveling and siding will take several years due to income. Certificates of appropriateness are only valid for six months. Exhibit is attached.
