Richardson, Planning Manager SUBJECT: Consider a request for an amendment to the Subdivision Regulations, Sec. 24-15 FILE: 745-OB STAFF REPORT The Planning Manager recommends approval. Sec. 30-35 of the Zoning Ordinance states that no building permit shall be issued, or public utilities extended or connected to any building or structure unless the application for the building permit provides for compliance with the building code, fire code, zoning code, subdivision code and other applicable codes of the City of Beaumont. Staff proposes an amendment to the Subdivision Regulations that would require sidewalks along all streets except in industrial subdivisions that are located in an industrial zoning district. Currently, the Subdivision Regulations state that sidewalks are required along all A safe school routes @ and all arterial and collector streets. By stating that sidewalks will be required along all streets, this would include installing sidewalks along residential streets as well as freeway frontages and local commercial streets. Sidewalks will also be required to be constructed on the subdivision side of all public streets immediately adjacent to the subject property. STAFF REPORTcontinued Exhibits are attached.
