HomeMy WebLinkAbout747-OB DATE: April 20, 2009 TO: Planning Commission and City Council FROM: Stephen C. Richardson, Planning Manager SUBJECT: Consider a request for an amendment to the Zoning Ordinance, Chapter 30, to clarify that only one single family residence shall be permitted as a primary use on a lot or parcel of land FILE: 747-OB STAFF REPORT The Planning Manager recommends approval. While policy has been to permit only one single family residence as a primary use on a lot or parcel of land, the Zoning Ordinance does not specifically state that. In order to make sure that the Zoning Ordinance is clear on this particular issue, staff recommends the following amendment: Sec. 30-4. Definitions (b) Definitions: In the interpretation of this Ordinance, the following words and terms are to be used and interpreted as defined hereinafter: 19. DWELLING, SINGLE FAMILY: A detached building having accommodations for and occupied by not more than one (1) family. Only one (1) single family dwelling shall permitted as a primary use on a lot or parcel of land.
