Richardson, Planning Manager SUBJECT: Consider a request for the abandonment of a utility easement FILE: 738-OB STAFF REPORT The Planning Manager recommends approval. Montgomery and Associates has applied for the abandonment of a utility easement located on the property at 1550 IH-10 E. The property is the site of a former Burger King restaurant. Jack in the Box restaurant is leasing the site and will redevelop the property. Under the current configuration, the surface of the easement was paved over and used for driveway and parking purposes. Jack in the Box intends to redevelop the site with improvements overlaying the platted easement. This item was sent to all interested parties. No negative comments have been received. Exhibits are attached. LEGAL DESCRIPTION FOR ORDINANCE PURPOSES Being a 10' x 100' utility easement beginning at the south right-of-way line of Isla Avenue and running in a southerly direction for a distance of 100' to the north right-of-way line of the IH-10 feeder road, City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, containing 0.02 acres, more or less.
