Richardson, Planning Manager th SUBJECT: Request for the abandonment of portions of 6 Street and an unnamed street FILE: 726-OB STAFF REPORT The Planning Manager recommends approval. Candy Melancon, right-of-way secretary for DD#6, has requested the th abandonment of portions of 6 Street and an unnamed street. Both rights-of-way are located north of Milam Street in the Columbus Cartwright Addition. Ms. Melancon states that DD#6 has developed a plan to relieve flooding in the Corley Cartwright area of Beaumont. As part of that plan, DD#6 is requesting that these two undeveloped streets be abandoned. DD#6 has recently acquired a portion of Block 32, on the west side of th 6 Street. It has also bought Block 33 and a portion of Block 34. Therefore, DD#6 owns the property on both sides of these two rights-of-way. This item was sent to all interested parties. No negative responses have been received. Exhibits are attached.
