Richardson, Planning Manager SUBJECT: Consider a request for the abandonment of a 20' alley in Block 66, North Addition FILE: 709-OB STAFF REPORT The Planning Manager recommends denial of this request. Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church is requesting the abandonment of a 20' alley in Block 66, North Addition. The church states that when it purchased the land to build their present structure, they did not know the subject alley existed. Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church was severely damaged during Hurricane Rita. The church is now requesting abandonment so that they can rebuild the church facility. This item was sent to all interested parties. Water Utilities recommends denial of the abandonment. It states that it has a 6" sanitary sewer main within the alley that provides service to the church and a residence on St. Charles. Exhibits are attached.
