FILE: 705-OB STAFF REPORT The Planning Manager recommends approval of this request. The Beaumont Housing Authority is requesting the abandonment of a portion of Maime, Regent, St. Helena and Jirou Streets and a portion of alleys in Block 9, 10 and 11 of the Gold Hill Addition. The Housing Authority has recently received a $20 million HOPE VI grant to demolish and redevelop Magnolia Gardens and a portion of Fair Park with 372 units of mixed income housing for rental and home ownership. In order to develop the property as planned, the aforementioned streets and alleys must be abandoned. Exhibits are attached.
