FILE: 702-OB STAFF REPORT The Planning Manager recommends approval of this request. Mark W. Whiteley & Associates is requesting the abandonment of a 20' x 141' portion of an alley located in Block 40 of the Van Wormer Addition. This request is being made to allow the owner to utilize the land on both sides of the alley for a single use. In 1989, the City abandoned the southwesterly half of the alley. This item was sent to all interested parties. No negative responses have been received. Exhibits are attached. LEGAL DESCRIPTION FOR ORDINANCE PURPOSES Being a 20' x 141' portion of the alley beginning in the west right-of-way line of Orange Street and continuing southwesterly to what is the southwest corner of Lot 3, Block 40 and the northwest corner of Lot 10, Block 40, Van Wormer Addition, City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, containing 0.06 acres, more or less.
