Richardson, Planning Manager SUBJECT: Consider a request for an abandonment of the 30' drainage and utility easement on Lots 5 & 6, Block 6, Fleetwood Addition FILE: 695-OB STAFF REPORT The Planning Manager recommends denial of this request. James and Naomi Carter are requesting the abandonment of the 30' drainage and utility easement along the rear of their property at 4230 Pierre. The Carters wish to install a swimming pool in their backyard. This item was sent to all interested parties. Water Utilities states that there is an 8" sanitary sewer line in this easement. Because there are homes to the west of the subject property that are served by this line, the entire sewer line would have to be moved. Therefore, Water Utilities recommends denial of this request. AT&T also objected to the abandonment. AT&T has an existing copper communications cable in the easement. Exhibits are attached.
