Richardson, Planning Manager SUBJECT: Consider a request for an abandonment of a 20' wide utility easement crossing Tract 61E, Plat RS-5, D. Easley Survey FILE: 682-OB STAFF REPORT The Planning Manager recommends approval of this request subject to relocating the existing sewer and telephone cables as agreed upon with the City and SBC. Mark Whiteley and Associates, Inc., the applicant, is requesting an abandonment of a 20' wide utility easement that runs along four lots of the proposed Greenfield Addition. After meeting with the City of Beaumont Water Utility Division, it was suggested and agreed upon to relocate the existing 10" sanitary sewer line to a new easement on the south end of the proposed subdivision. Mr. Whiteley also states that there are two SBC cables running in this easement. Mr. Whiteley is currently negotiating with SBC for the relocation of their lines. This item was sent to all interested parties. No objections were received. However, the City of Beaumont and SBC will require the relocating of the existing sewer and telephone cables. LEGAL DESCRIPTION FOR ORDINANCES PURPOSES Being a 20' x 305' utility easement recorded in Vol. 14, Page 146 of the Map Records of Jefferson County and diagonally crossing Tract 61E, Plat RS-5, D. Easley Survey, City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, containing 0.14 acres, more or less. GENERAL INFORMATION/PUBLIC UTILITIES APPLICANT: Mark W. Whiteley & Associates, Inc. PROPERTY OWNER: Sam C. Parigi, Jr. LOCATION: West of Major, approximately 470' south of Greenfield Drive.
