SUBJECT: Request for an abandonment of a part of Bowie Street between
Avenue C and Kansas City Southern Railroad right-of-way and
a 20' alley, Block 51, Van Wormer Addition

STAFF REPORT
The Planning Manager recommends approval of this request.
Oilquip, Inc. is leasing the properties on both sides of this section of
Bowie and the alley. Due to the planned future growth and
development of the company in Beaumont, they are requesting the
abandonment of these two rights-of-way. Both this section of Bowie
and the alley are unimproved.
This item was sent to all interested parties. As of today, no negative
responses have been received.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION FOR ORDINANCES PURPOSES
Alley - Beginning at a 2" iron rod at the northwest corner of said
alley where it intersects with the east right-of-way line of
Avenue C; THENCE, N 4928'00" E a distance of 44.23';
THENCE, S 8902'00" E a distance of 30.18'; THENCE, S
4928'00" W a distance of 66.84'; THENCE, N 4032'00" W a
distance of 20' to the POINT OF BEGINNING, containing 0.020
acres, more or less.
Bowie Street - Beginning at a 5/8" iron rod at the northwest
corner of Bowie Street where it intersects with the east
right-of-way line of Avenue C; THENCE, N 4928'00" E
a distance of 200.00'; THENCE, S 8902'00" E a distance
of 92.21'; THENCE, S 4928'00" W a distance of
294.25'; THENCE, N 4032'00" W a distance of 61.10'
