The Planning Manager recommends approval.
Felicia Young, representing Jehovah Jireh Village CDC, Inc., has applied
for a zone change from GC-MD (General Commercial-Multiple Family
Dwelling) District and LI (Light Industrial) District to RS (Residential
Single Family Dwelling) District. The property is located north of
th
Fannett Road and west of 11 Street.
The purpose of the zone change is to allow the construction of single
family residences for low to moderate income families. A preliminary
st
plat of Phase I of this development is on the April 21 agenda, as well.
Jehovah Jireh Village CDC, Inc. is associated with Antioch Baptist
Church. In addition to this property, the church is developing a
subdivision on Sarah Street, west of the Melton YMCA.
This zone change will help address the continuing need for affordable
housing for low to moderate income families.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION FOR ORDINANCE PURPOSES
Being a tract or parcel containing 23.15 acres of land out of and a
part of the J. W. Bullock Survey, Abstract Number 7, Jefferson
County, Texas, said 23.15 acre tract being more particularly
described by metes and bounds as follows:
Beginning at a found 2" iron rod, being a point on the south line of
West Oakland Addition, Volume 2, Page 152, J.C.M.R., and the
northwest corner of said tract;
Thence, South 0006'32" West, a distance of 700.96 feet to a found
5/8" iron rod;
Thence, South 8959' 43" East, a distance of 246.03 feet to a found
5/8" iron rod;
Thence, South 8958'35" West, a distance of 846.68 feet to a found

Thence, South 0001'48" East, a distance of 230.78 feet to a found
