STAFF REPORT
The Planning Manager recommends approval.
David Heilman, representing Ace Imagewear, has applied for a specific
use permit to allow a clothing retail store in the CBD (Central Business
District). The property is located at 210 Willow.
H & S Investments owns most of this city block and is doing business
as Ace Imagewear, formally Shepherd=s Uniform and Linen Supply.
The subject property is to be used for the company=s retail Safety
Apparel store. The store will sell shirts, pants, coveralls, safety toed
boots, etc. This 1,200 sq. ft. location was the former location of a
used furniture store.
The proposed use will be a welcome addition to the retail scene in the
Central Business District.

ANALYSIS continued
This application is in conformance with all eight conditions necessary
for approval. Comments on Conditions 1, 4 and 8 follow:
1. The applicant owns most of the block that includes the
subject property and the rest of the applicant=s business.
The proposed apparel store would compliment their
existing businesses and the downtown as a whole.
4. All driveways, parking spaces and sidewalks are existing.
No changes to those facilities are proposed.
7. The Comprehensive Plan designates this part of the City
as the CBD District. The proposed retail business is an
acceptable use within the downtown area.
