The Planning Manager recommends approval.
Ravikumar Kanneganti Family Partnership has applied for a zone
change from RM-H (Residential Multiple Family Dwelling-Highest
Density) District to GC-MD (General Commercial-Multiple Family
Dwelling) District or more restrictive district. The property is located
at 3350 McFaddin.
Mr. Kanneganti states that he has owned the property for the past
seven years. The property consists of commercial suites on the first
floor with apartments on the second floor. With the current RM-H
zoning, any commercial tenants that Mr. Kanneganti could possibly
rent to must first go through the specific use process. If the zoning is
changed to GC-MD, he proposes to lease space to a sandwich shop,
part and event rental, spa and salon. Currently, two spaces are
leased to a child psychiatrist and a business that deals with weight
loss, pain management and smoking cessation.
The property immediately to the south is zoned GC-MD.
