SUBJECT: Consider a request for an amended specific use permit to allow
an expansion of church parking in an RM-H (Residential Multiple
Dwelling-Highest Density) District

STAFF REPORT
The Planning Manager recommends approval subject to the following
condition:
1. The new parking lot shall meet the interior and perimeter
landscaping requirements.
Simon Construction has applied for an amended specific use
permit to allow an expansion of church parking at the Grace
and Truth Gospel Tabernacle. The property is located at 5910
N. Major Dr.
In August, 1990, City Council granted Grace and Truth Gospel
Tabernacle a specific use permit to allow a church and related
parking on the subject property. Due to growth in church
membership, additional parking is needed. The church proposes
constructing an additional 25 parking spaces. This would give
the church a total of 75 spaces.

This application is in conformance with seven of the eight conditions
necessary for approval. Comments on Condition 7 follow:
7. The proposed parking lot shall be required to meet the
perimeter and interior landscaping requirements. The
existing parking lot already adequately landscaped.
