STAFF REPORT
The Planning Manager recommends approval subject to the following
conditions:
1. TxDOT must approve the driveway access on Major Drive.
2. The parking lots must meet the landscaping requirements.
3. A sidewalk will be required along Major Drive.
Maxson Memorial Church of God In Christ has applied for a
specific use permit to allow a church and family life center
in a PUD (Planned Unit Development) District. The property
is located at 7925 N. Major Dr.
Maxson Memorial Church plans to construct a 16,303 sq. ft.
facility and related parking in Phase I. Reverend Gary Cantu
states that the Family Life Center will provide seating for
a maximum of 200 persons for worship services. The church
currently has a membership of 120. In a typical week, three
church services will be held with two services on Sundays and
one midweek. In addition, other typical church activities will
be held.
