SUBJECT: To consider a request for a Specific Use Permit to allow a gaming facility, in an
existing smoke shop, in a GC-MD (General Commercial - Multiple Family
Dwelling) District.

STAFF REPORT
Nazir Amir has requested a Gaming room with five (5) machines to be located at 1880
Washington Blvd. The applicant states that hours of operation would be 9a.m. to 7p.m., and only
individuals who are 21 years of age and up will be allowed to access the gaming machines.
However, no plan was submitted for enforcing this requirement.
In addition, he states that security will be provided by 24 hour camera surveillance, and the
business is protected by a 24 hour security alarm system.
Staff recommends approval of the request with the following condition:
1. Limited to no more than five (5) machines.
2. Owner must maintain adequate security.
Please note that final occupancy approval is subject to review and acceptance of submitted plans
and field inspections to verify compliance with applicable codes.
