SUBJECT: Request for approval of a certificate of appropriateness to allow
the demolition of a house at 2574 McFaddin and the moving of
a house at 2572 McFaddin
FILE: CA-970
STAFF REPORT
The Planning Manager recommends denial of this request.
Saud Daniali, the applicant, is requesting a certificate of
appropriateness to allow the moving of the house located at 2572
McFaddin and the demolition of a house located at 2574 McFaddin.
The house to be moved will be relocated to another lot on McFaddin.
Mr. Daniali states that the purpose for removing these structures from
their current locations is to build an apartment building. Staff has
informed Mr. Daniali that approval of a specific use permit and a
certificate of appropriateness will be required prior to any construction
of any apartments on the subject properties.
While there are two apartment buildings in the 2500 Block of
McFaddin, the general character of the block is single family. The
apartment building that is adjacent to 2574 McFaddin has the
appearance of a large single family house.
