Richardson, Planning Manager SUBJECT: Request for approval of a certificate of appropriateness to allow rd the demolition of a structure at 791 N. 3 Street FILE: CA-1205 STAFF REPORT The Planning Manager recommends approval of this request. Pam Loiacano, Building Codes, is requesting a certificate of rd appropriateness to allow the demolition of the structure at 791 N. 3. The structure was inspected and found to be in violation of the City of Beaumont Code of Ordinances pertaining to dangerous structures. The structure was tagged as substandard on April 23, 2006 because of extensive damage from Hurricane Rita. The structure was crushed by a fallen tree and the property owner has signed a demolition consent form for the City to demolish. The structure has been determined to have 50% or more damage of non-supporting members and 33% or more damage of supporting members. The structure is not suitable for rehabilitation. The house is listed is the 1990 SPARE Beaumont survey. SPARE states that the house was built c. 1919 and is of the National Folk style. Exhibits are attached.
