Richardson, Planning Manager SUBJECT: Request for approval of a certificate of appropriateness to allow a 4' tall chain link fence in the front yard FILE: CA-1195 STAFF REPORT The Planning Manager recommends denial of this fence. Kyna Nicole Garrett is requesting a certificate of appropriateness to allow an existing 4' tall chain link fence in the front yard of her house th at 1070 N. 7 Street. Ms. Garrett erected the fence without a certificate of appropriateness. Section 30-21.2 states that a fence in a front or corner side yard must be constructed of wrought iron, wood or brick. However, the ordinance also states that a fence not in compliance with the regulations may be approved if it is historically sensitive or unless the absence of said fence poses a significant hazard to life or property. The house is not listed in the SPARE Beaumont survey.
