HomeMy WebLinkAboutCA-1395 DATE: November 5, 2007 TO: Historic Landmark Commission FROM: Stephen C. Richardson, Planning Manager SUBJECT: Request for a certificate of appropriateness to allow the construction of a storage building FILE: CA-1395 STAFF REPORT The Planning Manager recommends denial. Javier Gomez has applied for a certificate of appropriateness to allow th the construction of a storage building at 1250 N. 6. Mr. Gomez wishes to construct a pitched roof metal carport on a concrete slab and then enclose the carport with walls that would be constructed of the same type of siding that the house is constructed of. The Zoning Ordinance states that accessory buildings must be compatible with the scale, shape, roof form, materials, detailing and color of the main building. Accessory buildings must have pitched roofs. Prefabricated metal accessory buildings are permitted if they are completely screened from view from any abutting street. The Gomez=s house is of wood frame construction. The accessory building, as proposed, is not compatible with the house. The structure will be seen from the street.
