SUBJECT: Request for approval of a Certificate of Appropriateness to allow
the demolition of a residential structure at 2250 Harrison.

The Planning Manager recommends approval of this request.
Pam Loiacano, Field Supervisor, inspected the residential structure at
2250 Harrison and found it to be in violation of the City of Beaumont
Code of Ordinances pertaining to dangerous structures. The
structure was tagged as substandard on August 18, 2006. The
property owner, Betty L. Briscoe, enrolled in a work repair program
on September 8, 2006, but no building permit was ever bought. Ms.
Loiacano states that the structure has 50% or more damage of
non-supporting members and 33% or more damage of supporting
members. She says that the structure is substandard and unsuitable
for rehabilitation. The structure is valued at $50,770.
The property is not listed in the SPARE Beaumont survey.
