the construction of a pitched roof on a structure at 2190 Pecos.

The Planning Manager recommends approval of this request.
Jose Torres is requesting a Certificate of Appropriateness to allow the
construction of a pitched roof on the house at 2190 Pecos. The
second story of the house has a flat roof. The property owner would
like to install a roof with a 2' height at the peak. The new roof will
be covered with architectural shingles.
The house is included in the 1990 SPARE Beaumont survey. SPARE
states that the house was built c. 1928 and is of the Spanish Colonial
Revival style. The use of modern materials sacrifices the architectural
integrity of the structure.
