Richardson, Planning Manager SUBJECT: Request for approval of a certificate of appropriateness to allow the demolition of a structure FILE: CA-1321 STAFF REPORT The Planning Manager recommends approval of this request. Pam Loiacano, City of Beaumont Field Supervisor, has applied for a certificate of appropriateness to allow the demolition of a house at 2398 North. In March, 2007, the structure was tagged as substandard and found in violation of the City of Beaumont Code of Ordinances pertaining to dangerous structures. The property owner is Noel Jaimes. Ms. Loiacano states that the house has extensive fire damage and the owner has granted the City permission to demolish it. She states that the structure has 50% or more damage of non-supporting members and 33% or more damage of supporting members. The house is not suitable for rehabilitation. JCAD appraised the pre-fire structure at $58,810. The property is listed in the 1991 SPARE Beaumont survey. SPARE states that the original house is of the Craftsman style. At a later date, a commercial addition was attached. Exhibits are attached.
