STAFF REPORT
The Planning Manager recommends approval.
Pam Loiacano, City of Beaumont Demolition Coordinator, has applied
for a certificate of appropriateness to allow the demolition of a
th
residential structure at 585 N. 4.
Ms. Loiacano states that the structure was tagged as substandard on
March 26, 2008. The structure has extensive fire damage. The
structure has 50% or more damage of non-supporting members and
33% or more damage of supporting members. Ms. Loiacano has
determined that the structure is not suitable for rehabilitation.
In 1986, the structure received an HC Designation. The structure is
listed in the SPARE Beaumont Survey. The house was built c. 1910.
SPARE states that the house is of the Craftsman style and is an
example of upper class housing built in Beaumont after the first
Spindletop boom.
