STAFF REPORT
The Planning Manager recommends approval.
Pam Loiacano, Demolition Coordinator, has applied for a certificate of
appropriateness to allow the demolition of a residential structure at
2431 Hazel.
Ms. Loiacano states that the structure was inspected and found to be
in violation of the City of Beaumont Code of Ordinances pertaining to
dangerous structures. The structure was tagged as substandard on
July 31, 2007. James Furda, the property owner, signed a work
repair program on August 2, 2007 but the work was never
completed. The structure has 50% or more damage to
non-supporting members. Ms. Loiacano states that the house is
suitable for rehabilitation.
The structure is listed in the 1991 SPARE Beaumont Survey. The
house was built c. 1939 and is of the Traditional style. It is an
example of a common house form built in Beaumont during the
1930's-40's.
Exhibits are attached.
