Richardson, Planning Manager SUBJECT: Request for a certificate of appropriateness to allow the demolition of a residential structure FILE: CA-1472 STAFF REPORT The Planning Manager recommends approval. Pam Loiacano, Demolition Coordinator, has applied for a certificate of appropriateness to allow the demolition of a residential structure at 2431 Hazel. Ms. Loiacano states that the structure was inspected and found to be in violation of the City of Beaumont Code of Ordinances pertaining to dangerous structures. The structure was tagged as substandard on July 31, 2007. James Furda, the property owner, signed a work repair program on August 2, 2007 but the work was never completed. The structure has 50% or more damage to non-supporting members. Ms. Loiacano states that the house is suitable for rehabilitation. The structure is listed in the 1991 SPARE Beaumont Survey. The house was built c. 1939 and is of the Traditional style. It is an example of a common house form built in Beaumont during the 1930's-40's. Exhibits are attached.
