STAFF REPORT
The Planning Manager recommends approval.
Pam Loiacano, City of Beaumont Demolition Coordinator, has
requested a certificate of appropriateness to allow the demolition of a
residential structure at 2210 Long. The structure was inspected and
found to be in violation of the City of Beaumont Code of Ordinances
pertaining to dangerous structures.
The structure was tagged as substandard on February 8, 2008. The
property owner has signed a demolition consent form for the
structure to be demolished. Ms. Loiacano has determined that the
structure has 50% or more damage to non-supporting members and
33% or more damage to supporting members. The structure is fire
damaged and is unsuitable for rehabilitation.
The structure is listed in the 1990 SPARE Beaumont survey. The
house was built c. 1925 and is of the Vernacular Craftsman style. It
is an example of middle class housing built in the 1920's.
Exhibit is attached.
