Richardson, Planning Manager SUBJECT: Request for a certificate of appropriateness to allow the demolition of a residential structure FILE: CA-1459 STAFF REPORT The Planning Manager recommends approval. Pam Loiacano, City of Beaumont Demolition Coordinator, has requested a certificate of appropriateness to allow the demolition of a residential structure at 2210 Long. The structure was inspected and found to be in violation of the City of Beaumont Code of Ordinances pertaining to dangerous structures. The structure was tagged as substandard on February 8, 2008. The property owner has signed a demolition consent form for the structure to be demolished. Ms. Loiacano has determined that the structure has 50% or more damage to non-supporting members and 33% or more damage to supporting members. The structure is fire damaged and is unsuitable for rehabilitation. The structure is listed in the 1990 SPARE Beaumont survey. The house was built c. 1925 and is of the Vernacular Craftsman style. It is an example of middle class housing built in the 1920's. Exhibit is attached.
