Richardson, Planning Manager SUBJECT: Request for a certificate of appropriateness to allow the placement of a 5' tall chainlink fence along an exterior side yard property line FILE: CA-1745 STAFF REPORT The Planning Manager recommends denial. Aia Azadi, the property owner, has requested a certificate of appropriateness to allow the placement of a 5' tall chainlink fence along an exterior side yard property line. The property is located at 2315 Broadway. th Mr. Azadi has constructed a black chainlink fence along the 7 St. side of the property. A portion of the fence is located along the rear of the side property line and a portion is located in front of the building. No certificate of appropriateness was requested prior to the construction of the fence. The Historic District regulations state that a fence in a front or corner side yard must be constructed of wrought iron, wood or brick. Chainlink fences must not be visible from the street. The property is not listed in the SPARE Beaumont survey. Exhibit is attached.
