Richardson, Planning Manager SUBJECT: Request for a certificate of appropriateness to allow the demolition of an existing house and the construction of a new house FILE: CA-1707 STAFF REPORT The Planning Manager recommends approval. Excello Construction has applied for a certificate of appropriateness to allow the demolition of an existing house and the construction of a new house at 2220 North. The new structure is a Hurricane Rita replacement house. The approximately 910 sq. ft. house will be constructed on a pier and beam foundation. The house will be sided with 6" hardi-plank. The roof will be shingled with brown architectural shingles. The white aluminum windows will be 6 over 6. The body of the house will be painted Sherwin Williams A Chop Sticks @ (SW 7575) and the trim will be painted Sherwin Williams A Portico @ (SW 7548). The 2200 Block of North is a mixture of single family residential, apartments and commercial. No single architectural style is prevalent. Building styles run the gamut. Exhibits are attached.
