STAFF REPORT
The Planning Manager recommends approval.
Pam Loiacano, City of Beaumont Demolition Coordinator, has applied
for a certificate of appropriateness to allow the demolition of a
residential structure at 2246 Broadway.
Ms. Loiacano states that the structure was inspected and found to be
in violation of the City of Beaumont Code of Ordinances pertaining to
dangerous structures. The structure was tagged as substandard on
July 31, 2007. No work program has been initiated to make repairs
to the property. The structure has 50% or more damage to
non-supporting members. The house has been judged substandard.
The structure is listed in the 1989 SPARE Beaumont Survey. SPARE
states that the house was built c. 1905 and is of the Queen Anne
style. The house is typical of middle class housing built in Beaumont
after the first Spindletop boom.
