SUBJECT: Request for a certificate of appropriateness to allow the
temporary placement of a modular residential building
FILE: CA- 1892
STAFF REPORT
The Planning Manager recommends approval subject to the following
conditions:
1. The structure shall be removed within one (1) year of the
issuance of the certificate of occupancy.
2. The building shall be skirted and meet wind load
requirements.
Marion Tanner, representing Garth House, is requesting a
certificate of appropriateness to allow the temporary placement
of a modular residential building at 1855 McFaddin.
One of the Garth House=s residential buildings is undergoing
mold remediation and renovation. During that time, the Garth
House needs to provide temporary housing for the tenants. Garth
House would like to move a temporary, 36' x 60' modular building
on the parking lot at the rear of 1855 McFaddin. Ms. Tanner
states that the building will not be there longer than one year.
To the east of the subject property is an apartment complex.
To the west is Garth House property and to the south is
commercial. While the moving of this type of modular building
would not normally be recommended for approval, due to its
location and its temporary nature, the Planning Manager is
recommending approval.
