SUBJECT: Request for a certificate of appropriateness to allow the
demolition of an existing house and the construction of a new
house

STAFF REPORT
The Planning Manager recommends approval of the demolition of the
existing house and construction of the new house subject to the
following conditions:
1. The roof will be covered with Corning architectural shingles in
A Weatherwood @.
2. Place the house on a pier and beam foundation system.
SWMJ Construction has applied for a certificate of appropriateness to
allow the demolition of an existing house and the construction of a
new house at 2095 Angelina.
The original house was heavily damaged during Hurricane Rita. That
house is to be demolished and a new house is to be constructed. The
new house will have a gable roof covered with Corning 3-tab shingles
in A Weatherwood @. The house will be sided with 8" lap siding and
painted ICI Paints A Historic Tan @. The windows will be white
aluminum one over one.
The existing house as well as the other houses in the block are on pier
and beam foundations.
