demolition of a substandard structure

The Planning Manager recommends approval.
Pam Loiacano, City of Beaumont Demolition Coordinator, has applied
for a certificate of appropriateness to allow the demolition of a
substandard structure at 2260 Broadway.
Ms. Loiacano states that the structure was tagged as substandard on
July 31, 2007. Julio C. Perez enrolled in a work repair program in
February 3, 2009 and a building permit was purchased. However,
no work has been done.
The property is located in the 1989 SPARE Beaumont Survey.
SPARE states that the house was built c. 1905 and is of the Queen
Anne style. The house is typical of middle class housing built in
Beaumont after the first Spindletop boom.
