STAFF REPORT
The Planning Manager recommends denial.
Antonio Arellano has applied for a certificate of appropriateness to
allow the construction of a carport. The property is located at 2193
Pecos.
Mr. Arellano states that the carport will be constructed of metal and
the roof will be flat with a slope to the rear. The carport
would be located at the rear of the house but would be
th
seen from 6 St.
Sec. 30-21.2 of the Zoning Ordinance states that accessory buildings
are only permitted in the rear and interior side yards and must be
compatible with the scale, shape, roof form, materials, detailing and
color of the main building. Accessory buildings must have pitched
roofs. Pre-fabricated metal accessory buildings are permitted if they
are completely screened from view from any abutting street.
Since the structure is to made of metal, has a sloping flat roof and can
be seen from the street, the Planning Manager recommends denial.
