STAFF REPORT
The Planning Manager recommends denial.
Leticia Torres has applied for a certificate of appropriateness to allow
a 6' to 8' high chain link fence in the front yard of her house at 1224
Hazel. Ms. Torres is going to fence her rear yard with a 6-8 foot
wood fence. The purpose of the chain link fence is to keep people
from crossing her yard.
Sec. 30-21.2 of the Zoning Ordinance states that chain link, barbed
and razor wire fences are permitted only in back yards and must not
be visible from abutting streets.
The subject property is known as the Crary/Anderson House and was
built c. 1900. The house received a City of Beaumont Historic
Designation in 1987.
