Richardson, Planning Manager SUBJECT: Request for a certificate of appropriateness to allow the painting of inside window trim FILE: CA-1781 STAFF REPORT The Planning Manager recommends denial. Dearra Santos has applied for a certificate of appropriateness to allow the painting of the window trim on her house at 2602 Harrison. Ms. Santos states that she would like to paint the window frames and mullions on her white house Sherwin Williams A Bunglehouse Gray @(SW 2845). Staff did approve Sherwin Williamas A Aurora Brown @ (SW 2837) for the front door and Sherwin Williams A Roycroft Bottle Green @ (SW2847) for the shutters. These colors are part of Sherwin Williams= Arts and Crafts color palette. The structure is included in the 1991 SPARE Survey. SPARE states that the structure was constructed c. 1942 and is of the Traditional style. The house is an example of World War II era housing. Sec. 30-21.2 of the Zoning Ordinance states that trim colors must complement the dominant color of the structure and be appropriate to and compatible with the structure. Exhibits are attached.
