STAFF REPORT
The Planning Manager recommends approval.
Pamela Loiacano, City of Beaumont Demolition Coordinator, has
applied for a certificate of appropriateness to allow the demolition of a
substandard house and garage at 2105 South.
Ms. Loiacano states that the structure was inspected and found to be
in violation of the City of Beaumont Code of Ordinances pertaining to
dangerous structures. The structure was tagged as substandard on
October 23, 2008. The owner enrolled in a work repair program on
August 14, 2009 but no permits nor work has been done. The
structure has 50% or more damage of non-supporting members. Ms.
Loiacano does state that the structure is suitable for rehabilitation.
The structure was included in the 1990 SPARE Beaumont Survey.
SPARE states that the property was built c. 1925 and is of the
Craftsman style. The house is an example of middle class housing
built in Beaumont in the 1920's.
Exhibits are attached.
