Richardson, Planning Manager SUBJECT: Request for a certificate of appropriateness to allow the construction of a master bedroom addition onto the rear of a house FILE: CA-2022 STAFF REPORT The Planning Manager recommends approval. Marsha Normand has applied for a certificate of appropriateness to allow the construction of a master bedroom onto the rear of a house she owns at 2514 Gladys. The subject property is located at the northwest corner of Gladys and Ninth Streets. The 528 sq. ft. addition, while in the back yard and behind a fence, will still be partially visible from Ninth St. The 105 siding on the addition will match the siding on the appendage. The addition will be painted dove gray to match the house. The roof will be covered with architectural shingles to match the existing roofing on the house. Windows are double hung to match the existing windows. In other work already approved by the Planning Manager, Ms. Normand will also be installing a new front sidewalk and a picket fence in the front yard. Exhibits are attached.
