Richardson, Planning Manager SUBJECT: Request for a certificate of appropriateness to allow the painting of the front porch and steps FILE: CA-2012 STAFF REPORT The Planning Manager recommends approval. John Hagger, the property owner, has requested a certificate of appropriateness to allow the painting of the front porch and steps on his house at 2243 Long. Mr. Hagger has painted the concrete porch and steps to match the front door and shutters. The painting of the porch and steps was done without a certificate of appropriateness. The Historic District Regulations do not prohibit the painting of a porch or steps. However, the regulations do state that the porch and entry treatment must have a shape, roof form, materials and colors that are typical of the style and period of the building. The house is not listed in the SPARE Beaumont Survey.
