Richardson, Planning Manager SUBJECT: Request for a certificate of appropriateness to allow the construction of a chain link fence FILE: CA-2011 STAFF REPORT The Planning Manager recommends denial of the chain link fence in the front yard and approval of the chain link fence from the front corners of the house to the side property lines and along the side and rear property lines. David Ortiz, representing his parent, Ethel Botley, has applied for a certificate of appropriateness to allow the construction of a four foot chain link fence at Ms. Botley=s home at 2105 Angelina. The fence will be constructed around the entire house. The Historic District Regulations state chain link fences are permitted only in back yards and must not be seen from the street. The proposed fence will surround the property. Mr. Ortiz states that the chain link fence is to be erected for the protection of his elderly parents. The house is listed in the 1990 SPARE Beaumont Survey. SPARE states that the house was constructed c. 1930 and is of the Vernacular Colonial Revival style and is typical of middle Exhibits are attached.
