Richardson, Planning Manager SUBJECT: Request for a certificate of appropriateness to allow the demolition of a substandard structure FILE: CA-2007 STAFF REPORT The Planning Manager recommends approval. Pam Loiacano, City of Beaumont Demolition Coordinator, has applied for a certificate of appropriateness to allow the demolition of a substandard structure at 2082 Angelina. Ms. Loiacano states that the structure was inspected and found to be in violation of the City of Beaumont Code of Ordinances pertaining to unsafe structures. The structure was tagged on May 28, 2009. According to Ms. Loiacano, the structure has 50% or more damage of non-supporting members and 33% or more damage of supporting members. The house is listed in the 1990 SPARE Beaumont Survey. SPARE states that the house was constructed c. 1926 and is of the Vernacular Craftsman style. The house is an example of middle class housing built in Beaumont in the 1920's. Exhibits are attached.
