STAFF REPORT
The Planning Manager recommends approval.
Pam Loiacano, City of Beaumont Demolition Coordinator, has applied
for a certificate of appropriateness to allow the demolition of a
substandard structure at 2082 Angelina.
Ms. Loiacano states that the structure was inspected and found to be
in violation of the City of Beaumont Code of Ordinances pertaining to
unsafe structures. The structure was tagged on May 28, 2009.
According to Ms. Loiacano, the structure has 50% or more damage of
non-supporting members and 33% or more damage of supporting
members.
The house is listed in the 1990 SPARE Beaumont Survey. SPARE
states that the house was constructed c. 1926 and is of the
Vernacular Craftsman style. The house is an example of middle class
housing built in Beaumont in the 1920's.
