Ruben Dorantes, the applicant, has applied for a certificate
of appropriateness to allow the demolition of an existing house
and the construction of a new house. The property is located
at 2150 Angelina.
The property owner, Gerald Isadore, would like to construct
a new three bedroom, 2 bath on slab brick home on the subject
property. One of two very similar elevations will be
constructed.
The existing house is listed in the 1990 SPARE Beaumont survey.
SPARE states that the house was constructed c. 1940 and is
of the Colonial Revival style. The house is an example of middle
class housing built in Beaumont in the 1930's - 40's.
Within the 2100 Block of Angelina there on two houses on slab
foundations. There is one brick home in the block. The rest
of the houses within the block are on piers and of frame
construction.
Exhibits are attached.
