HomeMy WebLinkAboutCA-1900 DATE: January 10, 2011 TO: Historic Landmark Commission FROM: Stephen C. Richardson, Planning Manager SUBJECT: Request for a certificate of appropriateness to allow the installation of a standing seam metal roof on a house FILE: CA-1900 STAFF REPORT The Planning Manager recommends approval. Pat Coussens, property owner, has applied for a certificate of appropriateness to allow the installation of a standing seam metal roof on the house at 2630 Hazel. The house currently has composition shingles. The property owner has hired MCT Sheet Metal Inc. to replace the existing roof with a 1 2" double lock standing seam metal panel in a silver/grey finish. The house is included within the 1991 SPARE Beaumont Survey. SPARE states that the house was built c. 1910 and is of the Vernacular Victorian style. The house is an example of an upper class Victorian house. SPARE states that the house does not fit into the neighborhood with its date or style and it is possible that the house might have been moved. Exhibits are attached.
