SUBJECT: Request for a certificate of appropriateness to replace a front door.

STAFF REPORT
Staff recommends approval of the request.
Ricky Pinkston has purchased the tagged structure located at 2100 Angelina. The structure was
not properly secured as the doors had been kicked in, so Mr. Pinkston purchased new doors to
secure the property properly. The house is a cottage style, and had a typical cottage style front
door with a half light. The new door had no light. Mr. Pinkston was informed he would need to
get approval for the new door or replace it with one to match the original. Mr. Pinkston
purchased a door with a Palladian light, believing it would meet requirements.
The property is listed in the 1990 SPARE Beaumont Survey. SPARE states that the house was
built c. 1925. The house is listed as an example of smaller middle class housing built in the 20's
and 30's.
Exhibits are attached.
