STAFF REPORT
Boyd Meier, Building Official, has applied for a certificate of demolition for the residential
structure located at 2288 Rusk Street.
Mr. Meier states that the structure was originally tagged on December 2, 2016. The re-
inspection report from March 13, 2018 states that the structure is not secured. Windows are
broken and exterior doors need to be replaced. Extensive termite damage has affected the
foundation beams. There are holes in the ceiling and walls and water damage to the interior of
the structure. All damaged electrical and plumbing will also need to be replaced. Staff
recommends a raze order.
The house is in the 1990 SPARE Beaumont Survey. SPARE states that the house was built c.1928.
The house was listed as an example of smaller middle class housing built in the 1920's and 1930's.
