STAFF REPORT
Boyd Meier, Building Official, requests a certificate of demolition for the garage apartment
located at 2505 Angelina Street. According to the inspection report, this structure was originally
tagged on August 14, 2018 and re -inspected on May 8, 2019. The request states there is
extensive deterioration throughout the garage apartment and specifically states that there is
deterioration of the fascia boards and the soffits have holes. Furthermore, the structure is
partially collapsing and is unsafe in its current condition. The owner has signed the consent form
for demolition of the garage apartment. The Building Codes Staff is recommending a raze order.
Planning staff recommends approval of this request.
The house is not listed in the SPARE survey.

MAJOR CODE VIOLATIONS: A re -inspection was made on May 8 2019. The garage

deteriorated. The windows and doors are damaged and some are missing. The owner has
signed a demolition consent form requesting the City to demolish the structure. Based on
the extensive repairs needed in this structure, staff is recommending= a raze order for this
structure.

The garage apartment located at 2505 Angelina was found to have a historical designation was
inspected and found to be in violation of the City of Beaumont Code of Ordinances pertaining to
unsafe structures.
Bassam Michel Sfeir is identified as the property owner and has been properly notified. The
owner has signed a demolition request form requesting the City of demolish the structure.
Attached are photos of the structure and a staff report for the Historic Landmark Commission
review. We would like to request a Certificate of Appropriateness to demolish this structure.
